Garfield Commons & Kelly Hamilton Homes
October 22nd and October 25TH our KBK Foundation along with our Community Relations Officer, Irene Sparks hosted two Harvest Festivals for our communities. Now that our nation is slowly recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic we can now get back to connecting with our residents and the community, and what better way with treats and entertainment. Both events were held at its resident center on-site, The Pride Center and the Kelly Hamilton Community Center, and featured food, education, COVID-19 vaccinations, and other miscellaneous vendors. There were approximately 40 residents that attended the festivals, and everyone seem to leave exceptionally satisfied.
October is National Bullying Prevention Month and Skyline Terrace along with Community Relations Officer, Marcia Scott celebrated its 2nd Annual Bullying Prevention Harvest Fest on October 29, 2021. The purpose of the bullying prevention discussion was to raise awareness about bullying with our residents. There event consists of several activities, which included Bullying Prevention Group Session, Sphero Bolt Robot Computer Coding, and Pumpkin Painting Contest. During the session several parents and children admitted to being bullied at one time or another. The group learned different tools to use on how to stand up for themselves and the importance to notify an adult if being harassed or bullied. After, the bullying discussion the older children paired up with a younger resident to participate in a STEM technology. Approximately 70 people were in attendance, in which we could not be any prouder of.
