Donica D. Key
Donica began her professional career as a Registered Nurse in 1990 on a fast paced orthopedic post-operative hospital unit. During this time she also worked “as needed” in a float pool as a Registered Nurse on various hospital units. Always aspiring to work as a Community Health Nurse, she began working as an Outreach Coordinator, providing free nursing care for the homeless through a local hospital program. While there she helped and implemented a grant funded program for homeless women and children. For the past 15 years she has worked as a Certified School Nurse in Ohio’s largest public school district. During the time which she returned to college and received a Master’s Degree in Health Education.
She currently serves and participates in the following affiliations: President of the Nurses Ministry at Mt. Hermon Baptist Church, Advisory Committee for United Way Action For Children, Advisory Committee for Columbus City School’s Central Enrollment Development, Community 1st Aid/CPR instructor, YMCA Residential Summer Camp Nurse.
Donica loves to travel and has taken two youth groups on Spanish Immersion trips to Puerto Rico. She aspires to travel to Africa for a health mission trip. She loves to participate in group fitness classes like Zumba and Hip Hop Aerobics and has contributed fundraising dollars to The American Stoke Association by running a marathon. Donica is married to Keith Key and they have three children.
